The charity’s annual fundraiser is held nationally to help raise funds to continue its fight against cruelty to animals.
The Bathurst branch of the charity co-ordinated the riverside event with raffles, a barbecue and merchandise all on offer to entrants who took part.
RSPCA’s Bathurst branch president Margaret Gaal said on Sunday 400 people and 300 dogs took part in the walk which was the most in the event’s 10-year history.
Not only was it a record number of entrants, but the fundraising tally of $2759 was the most ever raised.
“The money we raise stays locally and we use it for animals that need attention from the vets,” she said.
Ms Gaal said funds raised also go to the city’s biannual pet desexing program to allow for more cats and dogs to be included.
