While Bain’s Rams may have missed the finals, the prop-come-lock was a stand-out and won the under 18s players’ player award as a result too.
Bain’s Bathurst Panthers team-mate, 17-year-old Brad Fearnley took home the coach’s award after earning praise from Laurie Daley Cup mentor Paul McDonald during the tournament.
On top of Pollack’s gong in the under 16s, Panthers ace Noah Griffiths won the players’ player award and Wellington junior Elijah Colliss took out the coach’s award from Kurt Hancock.
Held at the Wellington Soldiers Club Friday night – at the same time Cowboys product Kotoni Staggs made his NRL debut at Suncorp Stadium – guest speakers at the presentation were Western Division 1974 Amco Cup hero and highly respected Wellington elder Nelson Smith along with Condobolin's Chris Anderson, who went onto play and coach at the highest level.
