After winning the 2017 Relay for Life’s Battle of the Band competition, the band recorded its first single Drive Me Crazy.
Since then, Crimson Royale has released another single, The Cure, in March and will unveil their new album titled A Year in the Minute on July 6 at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (BMEC).
The band features guitarist and vocalist Luke Furbank, guitarist Ben Howle, drummer Jackson Howle, keyboardist Jake Parker and bassist Tom Rodham.
Band members all attend Kelso High Campus, except for Furbank, who studies at Bathurst High Campus.
Parker the boys are over the moon to launch their new album.
“We’re really stoked about the album, really excited,” he said.
“The mood is really crazy. We picked up the tickets [for the BMEC show] on Tuesday.”
Bathurst singer and guitarist Tameka Kennedy will perform at the gig – at 7.30pm – prior to Crimson Royale performance – at 8pm.
The band will play all 10 songs that are set to feature on their debut album.
Three of the songs were recorded at the Dotted Eight Studio in Orange and the remaining seven were recorded at the band’s home studio in Bathurst.
Crimson Royale draws in influence from modern rock bands including the Foo Fighters, the Rubens and the Strokes.
Furbank said local radio station B-Rock has been excellent in promoting the band’s songs.
“It was weird hearing our song on the radio for the first time,” he said.
“The first song would be like Bruce Springsteen, then us and then the Foo Fighters.
“It’s so cool.”
After taking six months to record their debut album, Crimson Royale is just focused on it’s gig in July before thinking ahead about a follow follow up album.
Tickets for the album launch went on sale at BMEC on Wednesday morning and plans are in the works to have tickets available at both Bathurst and Kelso High Campus.
