For the fourth year running, Cancer Council NSW’s Stars of Bathurst returned to the Bathurst community, bigger and better than ever.
Stars Of Bathurst ‘Dance For Cancer’ is a gala fundraising event where local ‘Stars’ team up with Bathurst dance schools to fundraise for the Cancer Council NSW.
Having undergone lessons for the past couple of months the stars performed in front of a packed-out crowd at BMEC; the event raised more than $42,000.
Cancer Council NSW Community Relations Coordinator, Katherine Bodiczky said the stars came from a range of different backgrounds and all brought something new to the event, with the help of their amazing dance teachers.
The eight stars performing in this year’s event included Jena Shaw from B-Rock FM (dancing with Pure Imagination Performing Arts) Sharyn Semmens from Bathurst Real Estate (with Bathurst Academy of Dance), Dave Hitchick from the PCYC (with DMC studio) Dave Rankine of the Bathurst City Life (with Dancin Diva’s Pole Studio) Dr Ben Purcell of Bathurst Chiropractic (with Highland Dance) Leroy Tipu of LTK Carpentry (with Dance Dynamic) Dean Mobbs from the Dean Mobbs Gallery (Dancin Diva’s Pole Studio) and Margaret Duffus of Bathurst Correctional Facility (with Bashia Belly Dance.)
Dave Rankine shone on the night winning both judges and popular choice with Ben Purcell raising the most money.
