Gray, the league’s 2017 rookie of the year, will line up on Saturday night against Moss Vale Magic in his final Goldminers assignment before heading to the United States where he will play college basketball for Drake University.
“We’ll be ready, don’t worry. All of our guys want to make sure they farewell Matt with a win,” Goldminers coach Andrew Osborn said.
Having already beaten Moss Vale 104-79 this season when playing away from home, Obsorn is confident his side can re-produce that sort of performance for a fitting send off.
“We’ve got the physiological advantage because we pumped them down there at their place and now they’re coming to our place,” he said.
“Last year they rolled us by five down there, but we belted them when they came up here
“They’ve only got one or two players in their side from last year, what their coach is doing is basically a rebuild, he’s basically got eight-10 young guys, so it will take them a season or two.”
Tip-off on Saturday night is at 6pm at the Bathurst Indoor Stadium, and Osborn is hoping to see a big crowd present to cheer his players on.
