A female motorist was docked 15 demerit points and fined thousands of dollars for having five unrestrained children in her car.

At 3.55pm on Wednesday a 32-year-old woman from Cudal was pulled over near Gavins Lane after picking up the children from the school bus.
Police found two children with her in front of vehicle, one of whom was sitting in between the driver’s and passenger’s seat.
Another four children were in the back of the vehicle.
The woman was issued with $1650 in fines and deducted a total of 15 demerit points.
It has been compulsory to wear seat belts in NSW since 1971.
According to NSW Police Force, each year an average of more than 30 people are killed and another 270 injured who were not wearing seat belts.
