He’s also received the backing from the St Pat’s board, who promised Mr Godfrey that they will match him for dollar for dollar from Return and Earn money raised.
The tools will go towards the Sound of Animals Foundation, based in Thailand, who helps care for animals who have been caught up in the dog and cat meat trade in Cambodia.
Tools have also been donated by Australian Reinforcing Company Bathurst and tools include trowels, drills and a laser leveller.
“My sister told me about [the foundation] and said to go have a look when I was over in Thailand,” he said.
“They help out dogs who are getting eaten.
“We love our pets but it’s about the education. It’s different over there.”
Mr Godfrey will head to Thailand on Tuesday, to lend his support to the foundation and he was last there in February.
St Pat’s secretary Gary Goldsmith said it was an easy decision to support Mr Godfrey in his work.
“It’s a great idea and it’s a great show of community spirit,” he said.
“He’s not going round the corner to show his support but overseas, so it’s a big commitment.
“It’s a great reflection of him and his family.”
