Tegan Jane Cole, 33, of Lambert Street, Bathurst did not appear before Bathurst Local Court on May 21 and the matters were dealt with in her absence.
Police facts tendered to the court told how at 9.15pm on January 29 this year Cole was driving her father's Kia Carnival southerly along Peel Street without her lights on.
Police were travelling in the opposite direction and flashed the accused to warn her about her lights.
The accused flashed her lights back and continued driving without turning her lights on fully.
Police conducted a U-turn to catch up and as they did they saw the accused’s car swerve towards the middle of the road to avoid hitting a stationary vehicle.
Officers pulled the car over in a Lambert Street driveway.
As they approached the driver she said to them “what’s wrong ,what did I do?”.
Asked if the driveway was her residence she told officers it was. They asked if she had been drinking and she said she had “at least three glasses of wine”.
Police asked for her licence and she admitted she did not have a current driver’s licence and should not be driving.
Police cautioned her and asked her questions about the incident. She said she didn't know her lights were off.
She agreed to a hand-held recorded interview and admitted to driving on the road without her lights on, without a current driver’s licence and under the influence of alcohol.
She told police she had only finished her last wine about 20 minutes earlier.
On the charge of never licensed person drive on the road she was convicted, fined $500 and disqualified from driving for six months.
For driving under the influence of alcohol, she was convicted, fined $750 and disqualified from driving for nine months from May 21.
For driving in the dark with no lights she was convicted and fined $250.
