About A truck carrying a load of horses was travelling on Mogriguy Road near the intersection of McAnallays Road at Brocklehurst about 10.40am on Saturday.
The truck left the road and rolled into a culvert.
One of three men travelling in the truck has died. A man, believed to be aged in his 20s, was airlifted from the scene with suspected head and chest injuries.
The driver of the vehicle was taken to a hospital for further medical checks.
Police are working other government departments regarding the horses.
