Bathurst Regional Council was able to confirm on Thursday that it had secured Sunrise presenter David Koch as the guest speaker for the annual BizMonth Leaders Lunch in September.
While many think of Koch as just a television presenter, he actually has an extensive knowledge of finance, often attending events where he speaks on topics such as success in small business, technology in business and investment.
He often provides commentary on business and finance, along with writing columns on the subject for multiple publications.
Mayor Graeme Hanger said Koch’s appearance at the Leaders Lunch will only add to the purpose of BizMonth, which celebrates and aims to grow local business.
“BizMonth is a month dedicated to celebrating our local businesses and is packed with networking events, training opportunities and fun competitions,” he said.
“BizMonth also forms part of council’s Bathurst Buy Local Campaign.
“The BizMonth Leaders Lunch is one of the primary activities in the business calendar that allows business leaders in the community to maintain and build strong relationships with one another.
“The event aims to develop a collaborative approach to local economic growth.
“This year we look forward to welcoming David Koch to present to local business professionals across a diverse range of industry sectors.”
Cr Hanger added that Bathurst Regional council was excited to continue the tradition of providing a prominent guest speaker for the Bathurst business community, which ensures they “have access to similar opportunities as their metro counterparts”.
In previous years, council has been able to secure names such as Mark Bouris, Naomi Simson and Todd Sampson.
This year’s BizMonth Leaders Lunch will be held on September 26.
