The exhibit, titled Byte Wise, is suitable for ages 10 and over and will be on display on June 5 to 7 as a part of CSU’s Engfest.
Byte Wise is expected to inspire visitors’ curiosity and confidence and build greater understanding of how both computational thinking works and how it’s used in everyday life.
CSU Engineering Professor Euan Lindsay said exhibit should be an enjoyable activity for CSU students and various visitors.
“The Questacon exhibit is a highlight of Schools and Community Day at this year’s Engfest,” he said.
“In addition to Byte Wise, our student engineers’ projects will be exhibited, there will be tours of the building, maker-space lab demonstrations and information sessions for prospective students on the day.”
With hands-on exhibits like The Game of Nim, CSU Engineering visitors can match a mechanical computer in a battle of whits.
While they devise their winning strategies, they will also learn about early programming and how to physically implement logic and decision-making in mechanical computers.
The Byte Wise Exhibition will be on display as part of Engfest, which runs from Tuesday to Thursday.
Visit the CSU website at www.csu.edu.au for the full Engfest program to register for sessions.
