Bureau forecasting good snowfalls south of Bathurst this week

SNOW is predicted for high country south of Bathurst next weekend as winter starts to really take hold across the region.

The Bureau of Meteorology’s MetEye website shows areas of snow falling next Saturday in areas around Shooters Hill, Oberon and Jenolan Caves.

At this stage the snow is expected to start falling near Shooters Hill around lunchtime, with the forecast area for snowfall growing throughout the afternoon.

By 10pm Saturday snow is expected across a wide area of the Central Tablelands, stretching past Oberon.

Patches of snow are also forecast near Yetholme, east of Bathurst, and Mount Canobolas at Orange.

The MetEye forecast will be regularly updated throughout the week.
