Letter | More members needed to retain branch’s presence

HELP NEEDED: Bathurst Branch of the Red Cross committee member Margaret Miller.

THE Bathurst Branch of Red Cross recently held a very successful soup lunch and fashion parade enjoyed by all in attendance.

The fashions and models were supplied by the Red Cross Shop and what a great parade they organised. This co-operation between the branch and the Red Cross Shop has proved to be very rewarding in terms of both fundraising and fellowship.

However, the Red Cross Branch needs more members to assist us in our future fundraising and to ensure that Red Cross continues to have a presence in Bathurst.

At present, the branch meets once a month for a short meeting and a chat, and conducts only three fundraisers a year - the fashion parade, Red Cross Big Bake and an Easter raffle.

If you have a little spare time and are looking for some way to give back, why not consider coming along to our next meeting on July 6 at the Senior Citizens' Centre off Russell Street.
