The bureau’s MetEye website is now forecasting snow to start falling on high country around Shooters Hill, near Oberon, around 10am on Saturday – and that’s just the start.
By 10am on Sunday we can expect to see a snowfield stretching from past Crookwell in the south and out towards Sallys Flat in the north, West to Orange and Blayney and east to Yetholme.
We’re not expected to see snow in the centre of Bathurst at this stage but the city will be circled by a winter wonderland.
The MetEye forecast will be regularly updated as the week continues.
Bathurst can expect a top of just 10 degrees Celsius on Saturday ahead of a very wintry maximum of six on Sunday.
