That’s the message for CSU when they travel to play Parkes Boars in New Holland Agriculture Cup action this Saturday.
When the students played host to the Boars earlier this year they completed half of that mission but failed to play out the full 80 minutes, succumbing to a 29-25 loss.
Since that game the students have shown great improvement in their second half performances.
CSU has the chance to claim a hat trick of victories after wins against Mudgee Wombats (14-10) and Dubbo Rhinos (42-14).
“This weekend it’s the biggest game we’ve had in recent memory to be honest because if results fall our way we can go as high as second on the ladder,” CSU coach Luke Kelly said.
“That’s unheard for us in recent memory.”
CSU’s big win over Dubbo Rhinos was one of the most complete second halves the team has put together for some time, romping home with a 30-0 run.
Kelly is hopeful the long weekend general bye won’t disrupt his team’s momentum after that great performance.
“If we play to our full potential we can definitely be there or thereabouts come the 80th minute,” he said.
“Mudgee touched Parkes up in the last round so I’m not too sure what’s happened there, so I’m not too sure what to expect from them this week.”
Despite the university holidays taking place over the coming fortnight Kelly is confident he’ll have close to a full strength side for Saturday.
