Meteorologists had predicted a dusting of snow across the region, with falls as low as 600 metres possible.
And while Bathurst may not have received snow, many higher locations just a short drive away were a winter wonderland on Sunday morning.
Darren Furniss and his wife Chelsea Fielding took the opportunity to jump in their car with their children Ava, 10, Silas, 8, and Elijah, 2, and Tommy their dog for a drive to Oberon in search of snow.
“We stopped at the side of the road as soon as we spotted it as I was not sure how much there would be,” he said. “The kids loved it as it’s their first time.

“Just down from the shops was a great spot covered with snow and other families.”
The inclement weather, however, did force the cancellation of all Group 10 matches.
Roads between Oberon and Bathurst were closed on Sunday morning, meaning the Cowra Magpies could not get to Oberon for their blockbuster clash with the Tigers.
The heavy snow overnight also prompted a warning for motorists to drive with caution and be wary of black ice.
Residents in Black Springs and Shooters Hill also reported a whiteout on Sunday.
