Denyer, along with Love Child and The Wrong Girl star Jessica Marais, The Living Room’s Amanda Keller, Doctor Doctor’s Rodger Corser, Love It Or List It and Selling Houses Australia’s Andrew Winter and A Current Affair’s Tracy Grimshaw are all in the running for the coveted award.
This year live voting has been introduced for the first time with the public able to vote on the 10 ‘most popular’ categories, including the Gold Logie, right up until the end of the red carpet telecast.
Mr Denyer is no stranger to a Logie nomination with 22 under his belt for either himself personally or shows he has worked on since 2007.
His only win was in 2016 for Best Light Entertainment for Family Feud.
“It’s been along road from the bottom to the middle,” he joked.

“One thing I’ve learnt in all my losses is to remember to cherish the nomination because that still means things like – you’re still relevant, people are enjoying your shows, someone has physically made an effort to support you and acknowledge you so that’s kind of quite humbling and touching really.
“I never really expected game shows to evoke that kind of emotion, I didn’t think people felt strongly enough about game shows, so to be nominated for Gold three years in a row is pretty unbelievable ... I’m blown away to be honest.”
Mr Denyer has also been nominated for Most Popular Presenter for Family Feud/All Star Family Feud which was axed by Network Ten last month.
After 1200 episodes of hosting the show, he says he has taken some solace from known that the show’s viewers helped him towards the nomination.
Mr Denyer said thanks to the public voting he expected this year’s Logies to be “slightly more unpredictable”.
I’ve notched up 20 years in the game last year … so it’s been a really fortunate run, I’ve had a lot of lucky breaks along the way.

“People kind of vote with their remotes anyway when they watch the show and that’s how the ratings are made so yeah it’s kind of nice that people can have a say about their favourite TV shows,” he said.
Mr Denyer was first nominated for a Logie 2007
“I’ve notched up 20 years in the game last year … so it’s been a really fortunate run, I’ve had a lot of lucky breaks along the way,” he said.
“There’s not too many careers around in this day and age that are that long so I’m pretty blessed.”
Voting opens on Monday, June 25 and will continue until the end of the red carpet telecast.

Bathurst is home for Denyers
THIS August, Mr Denyer and his wife Cheryl ‘Chezzi’ will have called Bathurst home for five years, and he said it was a move that changed his life for the better.
“Bathurst is my real home … I just love the town, it’s a beautiful town full of great people. It’s small enough that it has a really warm community feel but it’s big enough that is has everything that you need,” he said.
“We’ve got family here so we have that sentimental attachment to the place, my wife’s a Bathurst girl, my kids go to school here.
“We made it our home and it’s been a wonderful choice, we don’t want to live anywhere else. You can have the big smoke, it’s just hectic and it’s a battleground – you battle for space on the footpath, you battle for space on the road and you battle to afford to live.
“There’s a lot of unhappy people there … when I cross the Blue Mountains it’s like everything nasty just washes off.”

Ok, it’s time to get voting
HE might be full of confidence on the television and his weekday radio program, but Mr Denyer said he is finding it difficult asking people to vote for him.
“I do a radio show in Sydney and I do it from here in Bathurst … they want me to talk about it all the time, but I just don’t know how to. I’m not a politician so I find it very difficult to pump myself up so a lot of people do some talking for me,” he said.
“We busted my mother-in-law the other day with the Bathurst phone book open on the bench just calling random strangers out of the phone book and asking them to vote … that’s hardcore commitment from the mother-in-law.
“We don’t make tele to win awards, but there’s also that nice aspect of every now and then you do have to stop and kind of realise that you’ve done alright.”
The 60th anniversary awards show will take place at The Star Gold Coast on Sunday, July 1.
Voting opens on Monday, June 25 and will continue until the end of the red carpet telecast.
