STUDENTS at Raglan Public School are hitting the right note following their performance at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday.

This was the third year the school has sent students to be part of the NSW Department of Education’s Festival of Instrumental Music.
Raglan Public’s recorder co-ordinator Sara Waldron said 14 students from the school took part in rehearsals during the day followed by an evening performance.

“It’s a fabulous opportunity for the students, particularly country students,” she said.
“Music is such an important part of their education.”
Raglan students Phillipa Murray and Bronte Cullen-Warn were also asked to perform in the NSW Schools Recorder Consort which included 90 public school students from Years 5-12.
“It’s the first time they’ve been part of the state consort,” Ms Waldron said.
She praised the work of Raglan Public’s music teacher Fiona Proctor who tutors the students and also met them in Sydney for the rehearsals and concert.
