Star Shane Jacobson said Brother’s Nest is nowhere near the toilet-humour mockumentary that launched his acting career in 2006.
“It’s a thriller – it’s pitch back comedy,” he said.
Alongside real-life brother Clayton Jacobson, who also directs the film, the Australian actors pair up to play Terry and Jeff, siblings intent on murder.
“Because it’s me and Clay audiences are expecting a certain humour, but this is much more intense, it’s dark comedy.”
The duo travelled to Orange to premiere the film at Odeon 5 cinema last Sunday, Clayton in more conventional VIP style than his younger brother, who arrived by bus.
A snapped Achilles tendon while on a recent trip to Monaco, the star is on strict orders from doctors not to fly.
“It’s a pretty nice bus though,” said Mr Jacobson.
In fact, it’s the tour bus team Hamish and Andy and team One Direction borrowed to make their way around the country.
Completing the family affair, Mr Jacobson’s nephew Jesse, who played the little boy on Kenny, worked backstage on the film.
“While we were filming the three of us lived together, so we’d film all day and then get in the car and keep working,” he said.
“Not many people get a chance to work with their siblings, we’re kind of blessed because we enjoy each other’s company.”
