According to Weatherzone, which takes its data from Bathurst Airport, there has been just 15.4 millimetres of rain recorded over a total of six days.
The long-term average for Bathurst in June is 44.7mm over 10.8 days.
“In terms of rain days, you are up there [with the average], but in terms of rainfall there is still a way to go,” Weatherzone meteorologist Kim Westcott said.
But all is not lost to boost the figure, with rain expected on Wednesday and Thursday.
Ms Westcott said that the amount received will differ across Bathurst, but there is the potential to receive 10mm across the two days.
Lower than average rainfall has been common in Bathurst this year, with the city’s recordings falling short of the long-term average most months.
“So far between January and this date there has been 196.4mm falling over 40 days and the general average is for 295mm falling over 50 days, so about 100mm lower,” Ms Westcott said.
Weatherzone’s outlook for the next three months finds a less than 30 per cent chance of Bathurst exceeding the average annual rainfall.
When it comes to temperature, Bathurst has been much closer to the long-term averages.
The average maximum temperature for June has been 13.6 degrees, which is 1.1 degrees above the long-term average.
The average minimum temperature is the same as the long-term average of 1.5 degrees, however Ms Westcott said recent mornings have been around five degrees colder than the average.
