The annual call for shoeboxes full of gifts results in presents being donated from across the world, and in 2017 the Bathurst community set a new record.
Last year, a record 1810 shoeboxes of gifts were packed – the most the city has ever contributed.
A Christmas in July theme launch of this year’s project will be held on Saturday, July 14 and Ms Taylor said it was easy and affordable to get involved.
Each box requires just six items – something to love, something for school, something to play with, something special, something to wear and a personal hygiene item.
People can be involved for as small or as large amount as they want.

“People can be involved for as small or as large amount as they want,” Mrs Taylor said.
People can also choose to put together a shoebox of gifts as a project with their children or community groups.
The launch will be held in the Hope Church dining room from 2-4pm.
During the event, people will hear from someone who has helped distribute gifts to children in need across the Asia Pacific region.
Musician Jordan Berry will also provide entertainment during the launch.
