BATHURST war historian Denis Chamberlain will be the special guest at a talk in Lithgow next month.

Mr Chamberlain, who was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2015 and was one of only two recipients of the Returned and Services League of Australia’s Anzac of the Year Award this year, will speak at the 2018 Yvonne Jenkins Memorial Award presentation.

The award is presented to the winner of an annual essay competition.

Mr Chamberlain, who is also the author of a number of history books on the Bathurst district, has chosen “war-torn gifts” as the topic of his talk.

The local historian’s talk will be given at the Lithgow and District Family History Society’s Resource Centre in Tank Street, Lithgow on Saturday, August 18.
