According to Mr Morgan, these tours will offer a completely different and very interesting experience at the iconic house.
“For the first time ever, we will take a small number of guests into some of the rarely seen and private areas of the house on these two-hour guided tours,” he said.
“We will catch a glimpse of some basement areas which were the domain of the household servants 150 years ago as well as visiting rooms not usually open on tour days, and going into some of the outbuildings.
“We only have 25 tickets available for each tour, and there are only four tours, so these are special and very limited events.”
Tickets are available from Bathurst Visitors Centre on 1800 681 000 and Abercrombie House on 6331 4929 and cost $25 each.
All the proceeds will help with the house’s preservation and restoration.
The tours are on Thursday, July 12, and next week on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 6.30 to 8.30pm.
Meanwhile, the house will be staging two kids’ night tours this Wednesday and again next Wednesday at 5.30pm.
