While we look forward to hearing students back on air at 2MCE, it’s also time to farewell CSU graduate Jessica McKenzie as she embarks on her career.
Jessica studied a double degree in theatre/media and radio with a minor in advertising and is hoping to work in the radio/advertising industry in Newcastle.
Highlights of Jessica’s time at CSU were living on campus for three years, sharing the university experience with fellow students and travelling to Thailand for a cultural exchange theatre program.
It’s now time for Jessica to explore further afield and she’s chosen Newcastle to be closer to the beach.
It’s been a pleasure to have Jessica join our team of 2MCE presenters and I wish her all the very best for her future.
You can tune in to hear Jessica’s final Bangers and Mesh program on Thursday from 10pm.

2MCE country music presenter Chris Tobin is also a Bathurst Living Legend after having been nominated and recognised for her volunteer work as part of the inaugural award for the Bathurst bicentenary celebrations in 2015.
The Living Legend title is awarded to someone who has made positive contributions to the community and Chris was recognised for her long-time volunteering with St Stanislaus’ College, the Bathurst Country Music Club and 2MCE.
Chris first became involved with St Stanislaus’ College when her three boys attended as students and she remained a part of the college community long after they had graduated.
Chris has volunteered as the social director of the college for more than 30 years and she’s also been the presiding officer for the college’s HSC during that time.
Chris shares a love of country music with her friends at the Country Music Club’s live concert every second Sunday of the month at the Bathurst RSL Club.
Chris wears many hats for her involvement with the Country Music Club, including as compere for the concerts, publicity officer and social director. She’s one of the organisers for the club’s popular riverbank and Christmas concerts.
It’s coming up to 20 years since Chris joined 2MCE. She presented the Country Music Club program for many years in partnership with John White, but now Chris presents solo each week and she loves hearing from her listeners who phone to say they like the music she plays because each song tells a story.
Hear Chris on 2MCE 92.3 Bathurst and 94.7 Orange on Sundays from 2-5pm.
