Police say they were called to the property in Frys Lane, White Rock following an alleged incident between a teenager and a 64-year-old man.
Inspector Gerard Powell, duty officer with Chifley Local Area Command, said police were called to the property just after 5.10pm on Sunday.
He said it appears a 19-year-old man attended the property over some type of family issue, and while the teen was at the property, the 64-year-old man was seen holding a .22 rifle.
“It is alleged that he had a rifle and demanded the 19-year-old leave the property,” Inspector Powell said.
The 19-year-old got in his car and police allege the 64-year-old again demanded the teenager leave the property. The teenager then drove away.
Police were called and commenced investigations, obtaining a crime scene warrant to search the property.
It was executed and police allege they located a firearm and ammunition at the scene, which was seized.
As a result, the 64-year-old man was arrested and charged by officers with a string of firearms-related offences.
Among the charges are being armed with intent to commit a strictly indictable offence, possessing an unregistered firearm, not keeping a firearm safely and possessing ammunition without holding a licence.
The man was bailed by police and will appear before Bathurst Local Court on July 30.
