Not everyone can play an instrument, but almost everyone can participate in the communal experience of choral singing.
The choral festival will be held at the Blayney Community Centre from 2pm-5pm.
Everyone is welcome. Optional gold coin donation.
Time to audition
A BRILLIANT new work has been developed in partnership with Australian Theatre For Young People (ATYP) over a three-year period.
The Climbing Tree will play at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre from November 2-6 and the Riverside Theatre at Parramatta from November 22-24.
ATYP is looking to cast a number of roles, including:
- Kylie, 17, female, Wiradyuri (Aboriginal actors only).
- Rayleen, 16, female.
- Will, 16, male with fair skin.
- Scott, 16, male, Wiradyuri (Aboriginal actors only).
- Musician/authority. The composer is thinking cello and keyboards but is open to other musical combinations. This is a speaking role.

Felting workshop
THESE fabulous felting workshops are recurring and you can jump right in on Sunday, July 22.
They include Learn to Felt Workshop, Felting Handbags, Felting onto Silk (Nuno Felting), Felting Hats.
Classes run from 9am to about 3pm at Kyona Alpacas, 170 Forest Reefs Road, Millthorpe.

Crochet tips
EVANS Arts Council will hold a crochet workshop with Wendy-Lou Tisdel and Sue Cowdroy on Saturday, July 21 at 7 Lee Street, Kelso (former Evans Shire Council Chambers).
The workshop costs $10 and runs from 10am-4pm with a half-hour break for lunch (BYO lunch).

Sci fi classic
THE 1959 sci fi classic Plan 9 From Outer Space has been described as one of the worst films ever made - so you just have to see it.
It is screening at the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum as part of the Fossil Flicks Silent Movie Festival this Friday, July 20 at 6pm.
Tickets are $15/$20 including film, welcome drink and popcorn.
