Rhonda started working at 2MCE on a short-term six-week contract in 1999 and has been with the station as our administration assistant for almost 20 years.
She’s worked with seven station managers during that time, met many presenters and listened to lots of radio.
Adam first came to the station as a work experience student, became a volunteer presenter for the Movie Music Show and was then employed as the station’s production assistant in 2009.
Rhonda is the first person you meet in the 2MCE office and she’s enjoyed meeting the variety of people who’ve passed through our studios over the past two decades.
She knows the rhythms of the station, has an exceptional knowledge of our history, and knows where everything is and how it all works.
Adam produces the station’s announcements and you probably hear his work every time you listen to 2MCE.
He trains our new presenters and gets a thrill out of following the success of students who’ve gone on to have careers in national television or radio.
As technology changes, so does the way we broadcast, and Rhonda and Adam have seen many technology changes over the years as we’ve moved from carts to mini-discs and now to digital.
They’ve both learned new ways of working in our studios and helped out presenters each time our equipment is updated.
For Rhonda, the most fun at 2MCE is when we all get together for social functions like our Christmas party, while Adam enjoys our station live broadcasts when we get out of the studio and into the community.
They both enjoy listening to our Saturday Night Jukebox program and both fondly remember the great shows presented by Bob Dengate, who passed away in 2011.
Outside of work, Adam enjoys playing guitar, playing video games and watching movies as research for the Cult Fiction program he co-hosts with Tad on Fridays.
Rhonda enjoys weekends spent wandering through villages exploring new places.
Farewell, Vic
WE farewelled the “Wildman”, Vic Mally, last week who has decided to move on from 2MCE to pursue other activities.
Vic presented his final Full House program last week and it was a rocking show of great rockabilly tunes. We wish him all the best for his future endeavours.
