The Australia-wide limited cinema release is based on the bestselling memoir of the rock legend.
Told in the singer’s own words, the unflinchingly honest and raw reflection will touch on his fame, creativity and depression.
He has also drawn further attention to the issues of addiction and mental health and promoted the work of Lifeline.
Jimmy Barnes has been in the music business for more than 40 years.
Working Class Boy will appear in cinemas from August 23.
Jimmy Barnes attracted a huge crowd last November when he came to Bathurst for a book signing at BooksPlus.
The singer also played a sold-out show at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre on April 7 this year.
Off your trolley to make change
REGULAR readers of Parade would recall that in Thursday’s edition of the Western Advocate there was a reminder about reporting abandoned trolleys.
In that reminder, Parade said she had reported a couple of discarded trolleys through the Trolley Tracker website.
She can now say, after her experience, that these reports are taken seriously.
Less than 45 minutes after reporting two trolleys, Parade heard a metallic rattling sound outside.
She looked out the window and saw that the reported trolleys were being collected.
So if you're wondering whether your report will make a difference, Parade feels confident in saying it would.
It’s thirsty work being an emu
WITH so many drought images and videos doing the rounds on social media, one in particular caught Parade’s attention this week.
It was posted by a woman called Sarah Louise Bugeja who lives in Broken Hill and it showed some very thirsty emus drinking from a child’s paddling pool that had been place in her front yard.
With the drought making food and water almost impossible to find, these emus make their way into town each day to feed on the oval opposite my house,” she posted to Facebook.
“I put my children’s paddling pool in the front yard and am keeping it filled with water to help these gorgeous thirsty birds.
“Hoping the drought is over soon.”
