The bureau’s MetEye website is now showing possible snow across a wide area of the Central Tablelands on Tuesday morning.

The falls are predicted to start around Orange about 1am and increase to the west, south and east of Bathurst city throughout the morning.

By 7am there is expected to be reasonable falls on high country above 1000 metres.

Meanwhile, a sheep grazier’s warning for the start of the week has been issued for many parts of the state, including the Central Tablelands.

Bathurst can expect a top of just 12 degrees Celsius on Monday and 10 degrees on Tuesday.

“Sheep graziers are warned that showers, cooling temperatures and fresh and gusty west to northwesterly winds are forecast on Monday,” the warning states.

“Cool temperatures and fresh and gusty winds are expected to persist into Tuesday.

“Areas likely to be affected include the Southern Tablelands, South West Slopes and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts and parts of the Northern Tablelands, Central Tablelands, North West Slopes and Plains, Central West Slopes and Plains, Riverina and Snowy Mountains forecast districts.

“There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.”
