Students Stephen Ryan, Sourabhi Debrath and Rebecca Thornbury have received the inaugural Dean Mobbs Gallery Creative Arts, Early Childhood and Hospitality Scholarships for 2018.
Mr Mobbs established the scholarships in partnership with TAFE NSW to recognise those who display determination and application to their studies and are looking for future education and career opportunities.
“I’m really excited to find such deserving recipients and I hope that the scholarships of $500 each will give the students self-belief and motivation,” Mr Mobbs said.
“Stephen, Sourabhi and Rebecca displayed a clear direction to learn new skills and achieve their goals, which aligned well with the purpose of the scholarships.”

Mr Ryan (Certificate III and IV in Design), Ms Debrath (Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care) and Ms Thornbury (Certificate III in Commercial Cookery) were grateful to receive the scholarships.
“I urgently need to upgrade my computer and this support will assist me with my studies and give me the motivation to keep going,” Mr Ryan said.
Ms Debrath plans to purchase academic books “to continue my studies in nurturing children”.
TAFE NSW student engagement officer Angie Trevor-Jones said TAFE NSW was very appreciative of the support the students have received from the Dean Mobbs Gallery.
