Major semi-finals are on the cards for Bathurst Panthers under 18s plus the St Pat’s senior league tag and reserve grade teams.
All teams will fancy their chances of progressing to the decider based on the excellent seasons they’ve each experienced.
Bathurst Panthers 18s enjoyed the week off courtesy of their minor premier crown.
They will face defending premiers Orange CYMS after they defeated the Saints in a tight qualifying semi-final.
Panthers are riding a 10-game winning streak but will be facing the last club who made them taste defeat.
Coach John Fearnley said CYMS have been a force in recent years at this age level.
“At the start of the year they were probably the leading side and they beat us in that first round. They had a few injuries but they seem to be getting everyone back at the right time of the year now,” he said.
“I was surprised at the score with St Pat’s because they’d been travelling along quite well all year.
“The last two 15s and 16s grand finals have featured CYMS and a lot of those boys have moved on to 18s. In the last two years they’ve been strong in 18s. With them getting a few players back they’ll be hard to beat.”
Meanwhile the Pat’s league tag and first division teams are aiming to repeat their grand final appearances from last season.

The minor premier and defending champion league tag team are just two wins away from what would be an unbeaten season.
They have a grand final rematch with Orange Hawks.
Hawks came close to handing a loss to Pat’s this year so the Saints will be aware they’ve got to be at their best come Sunday.
The Hawks women entered last year’s finals series as unbeaten minor premiers so Pat’s will hope history doesn’t repeat.
The first division men are flying high after their comeback win over Panthers and they too can book a grand final spot with a win over Hawks.
All three matches will be played at Sid Kallas Oval this Sunday (league tag 9.45am, under 18s 10.30am and first division 12.45pm).
