The carriages on the Bathurst Bullet are just self-propelled Endeavour rail cars, so all that needs to happen is a single, self-propelled carriage leaves from Orange, then travels to Bathurst, connects to the Bathurst Bullet, then off they go.
On the return trip the three-car train returns to Bathurst and one car returns to Orange.
It is a long day, but no longer than driving or catching a bus from Orange to Bathurst to catch the train.
All Orange people have to ensure is that they get in the right carriage.
A win for regional NSW. Simple – no wonder the NSW government hasn't thought of it.
