BATHURST police have issued a new warning for car owners to lock their vehicles following a spate of thefts from motor vehicles over the weekend.

Police have responded to at least five thefts from motor vehicles since Friday and have put out a call for information from the public, including an appeal for any closed circuit television footage from the target areas.
The weekend thefts from motor vehicles included incidents in Sundown Drive and Spofforth Place, Kelso between 8pm Saturday and 10am Sunday, and incidents on Casey Court, Laws Close and Parsons Close, Bathurst between 6pm Friday and 10pm Saturday.
“Kelso and Bathurst residents, lock your vehicles and do not leave valuable items inside,” a police spokesperson said.
“We have experienced a spate of steal from motor vehicles.”
