The business awards are an opportunity to recognise businesses and employees in the community that are providing exemplary service to Bathurst.
While most categories will be determined by an independent panel of judges, two categories are up to the public to choose the winners for.
Those categories are Bathurst’s Favourite Business and Bathurst’s Favourite Employee.
Bathurst Business Chamber president Angus Edwards said that it is important to have input from the people who deal with these businesses daily.
“It is great to have our expert judges, but it is also great to have the customers, the consumers and the Bathurst community to be able to participate in the awards and recognise the people they are dealing with,” he said.
So far, there have been more than 2000 votes received for both categories, with voting closing on August 31.
Mr Edwards said members of the public should take the opportunity to vote to avoid disappointment.
“Too often we hear people talk about the winner and they have their own ideas about who should have won,” he said.
“Now is the time to exercise their vote and have a say in who is the favourite business and the favourite employee.”
To cast a vote, visit the business awards website.
Businesses who have been entered into the awards are invited to attend a finalists night on September 18 at Bathurst RSL Club.
The night is free to attend and will be used to announce the finalists for all categories ahead of the Gala Dinner at Bathurst Goldfields on October 26.
Businesses attending are asked to RSVP for the finalists night for catering purposes.
