Five cars at the museum – 1963 Cortina GT, 1966 Mini Cooper ‘S’ 1967 Ford XR GT, 1968 Holden Monaro (HK) GTS 327 and a George Reed Special – will all be available, with fathers to be driven around Mount Panorama in one car of their choice.
However, tickets are selling fast, so museum coordinator Brad Owen is encouraging fathers to not leave it to the last moment to book.
“We’ve had some fantastic responses, with not many seats left,” he said.
“Make sure you get in and book a seat. Don’t leave it until the Saturday before or on the day, otherwise there may be not seats left.”
The George Reed Special will be used for the first time of Father’s Day.
“We like to do something different each year,” Mr Owen said.
There’s also free entry into the National Motor Racing Museum on Sunday, on a day where the museum will also celebrate 30 years.
“It was actually formed back in May 1988, so anyone who was born in it that year will be able to get in free as well,” he said.
“It’s going to be a big event on Sunday. We’ve got some council representatives coming, as well as past museum committee members,” he said.
“The Bathurst Light Car Club will be having a display, with between 20 to 25 cars on show.”
Fathers also get in for free on the same day and there’s plenty to see for the car loving dads, including Brad Schumacher’s 2015 Subaru WRX STI.

“We’ve got a few new cars coming in,” he said.
“There’s over 110 cars and bikes in the museum and the council owns about 20 of them, so the lenders have been really great to lend us their vehicles. They’re the reason we have three sheds full of cars and bikes.
“We look to move some old displays on, so we can bring some new ones in.”
The National Motor Racing Museum will be open from 9am to 4pm on Sunday.
