PROUD dads got all dressed up for the Peter Murphy Father and Daughter Dinner Dance at the Bathurst RSL Club on Saturday night, which drew a big crowd.

Committee member Geoff Parish said the event had been running for a couple of years through MacKillop College as a way for girls and their fathers to spend some time together and connect.

He said it was now called the Peter Murphy Father and Daughter Dinner Dance in honour of the late long-serving MacKillop teacher, who initiated the event.
Coinciding with Father's Day, the dance is attended by fathers, grandfathers and significant others, he said.
There were more than 120 participants this year, which was a “small increase” on last year.
Mr Parish said money was raised on the night for the Buy A Bale initiative to help drought-hit farmers.
