Collegians recovered from a six goal deficit at the break to record a 56-48 win, adding to what’s been a great season of meetings between the two clubs.
The nerves started to dissipate over the game’s back half for Collegians and the deficit was cut to just two at the final break.
In the last quarter Collegians upped the pressure and took the game away from Panthers.
“Panthers always push us all the way and I’m glad my girls were able to respond and come away with the win,” winning coach Melissa Noonan said.
“It was just through grit and determination that they got back. At half-time we were disappointed that we’d let them get ahead of us so we talked about a few things we could do to try and combat what they were putting out.

“The girls knew what we had to do to bring it back around.”
The game was moved to the Bathurst Indoor Sports Stadium due to the wet weather.
“Both teams have a fair few players who play indoor netball, so playing inside was okay,” Noonan said.
“It was a physical game with a lot of players hitting the deck so we were pleased to be indoors and not losing a lot of skin.”
Collegians now get to enjoy a weekend off and will await the winner of the preliminary final between Panthers and Bulldogs Verdelho.
