TWO school communities came together as one on Sunday as The Scots School and All Saints’ College celebrated their storied pasts and looked forward to a future together from 2019.

The All Saints’ College Spring Fair was the last before the schools begin a new journey together as Scots All Saints College next year.

But headmaster David Gates promised the fair would return – along with The Scots School’s annual Highland Gathering – as a way of welcoming the broader Bathurst community into the new school.

“The majority of enrolment interviews I would do have either come to the Spring Fair or Highland Gathering in the previous five years to get a sense of the community and culture of the schools,” he said.

“They see the kids in action, see the parents in action and have some fun, and then walk away with an idea of what we are all about.”

Mr Gates acknowledged the work of the All Saints’ P&F in putting together another successful Spring Fair.

“There is a lot of planning and work that goes into an event like this and they all volunteer their time because they love the school,” he said.

College council chairman Hamish Thompson launched a new school video at the Spring Fair which highlights the history of both schools along with the opportunities the merger will create.
