TEAMS will be coming from Sydney and the Central Coast for a Golden Oldies rugby event in Bathurst later this month.

The Central West Old Bulls Rugby Club, which was formed in 1983, is promising fun, friendship and fraternity at its upcoming Central West Old Boys Rugby Gala Day.

“The Central West Old Bulls invite all old boys rugby clubs to take part,” Old Bulls president Allen Spencer said.

“This year we have 14 teams from Sydney, Sydney’s Northern Beaches, the Central Coast and the Central West attending.

“Golden Oldies rugby is especially for players aged 35 and over. It provides enjoyment for players of all abilities and focuses on participation rather than winning.

“It is grassroots footy and traditional rugby friendship for those 35 years and over.”

The Central West Old Boys Rugby Gala Day, now in its 20th year, will be held on Saturday, September 22 from 11am at Anne Ashwood Park.

A barbecue, drinks and raffle will be available on the day and a presentation will follow.

“Everyone is welcome to attend and view some classic old boys rugby from the stars of yesteryear,” Mr Spencer said.
