Revving up support for fundraiser at Mount
REGISTRATIONS for Council’s Driving for Drought 1000 fundraiser are now open. The event will be held at Mount Panorama at 10am on Sunday, October 28.

We are hoping to bring up to 1000 cars to Mount Panorama to set a track record for the most number of cars moving on the iconic race circuit.
Registration is $50 per car and all funds raised will be donated to Buy a Bale to support farmers. The funds raised will go a long way to support farmers and their families who have been affected by the drought.
If you want to get involved, be quick. There are only 1000 places available. To participate, register via www.bathurst.nsw.gov.au.
A football skills clinic was held at Holy Family School last week to introduce school children to the sport and to challenge children who are current football participants.
W-League goalkeeper Jada Whyman, along with two of the club’s community coaches, ran the children through a series of training drills and exercises.
Jada played in almost every match for the Red and Black last season and her performances saw her receive the prestigious national Role Model Award as well as being named Westfield W-League Player of the Year and Members’ Player of the Year at the Wanderers Medal 2018.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to be active, learn new skills and interact with their sporting role models.
The Western Sydney Wanderers will play in Mudgee on November 10 against Brisbane Roar.

Doing what we can to help business boom in the bush
BUSINESS is booming in the Central West, and we’re doing all we can to keep it that way. The NSW Government has announced further support to attract more business to regional NSW, and in particular, our region.
This new investment package for regional NSW features a:
- Regional Investment Attraction Fund – $20 million in grants and interest-free loans targeted at offsetting government levies and duties, such as payroll tax, to eligible businesses that want to invest and grow in regional NSW, which will lead to new jobs.
- Skills Relocation Assistance - $10 million in grants of up to $10,000 per eligible skilled worker to help meet the cost of moving from the city to the country, such as furniture removal and temporary accommodation for up to three months.
- Investment concierge – supporting businesses investing in or moving to regional NSW, working with an appointed Regional Investment Co-ordinator to provide easy access to incentives, smooth the planning process and help lodge applications.
This is a great initiative that will proactively seek out businesses and showcase the benefits of moving to regional NSW.
Increasing the number of businesses and skilled workers in the Bathurst region means more jobs, a stronger economy and more work for our local suppliers, tradies, retailers, restaurants and cafes.
Registration charges changes
NOBODY wants to see anyone pay more than they should for essential costs such as vehicle registration, especially our farmers in regional NSW who are doing it tough.
Now, farmers out here will get more cash back in their pockets with rebates and refunds on heavy vehicle registration after the NSW Government changed the way registration charges are calculated for primary producers.
These changes will come into effect as soon as November 1, 2018, but we’re not stopping at new registrations - any heavy vehicles registered in the past three years may also be eligible for a partial refund.
This announcement will mean farmers save, on average, around $2094.
