The Bluntside Skatepark Series was held in Bathurst on Sunday, the city hosting the event at the skatepark in Kelso.
Event organiser Ricky Konza said the idea behind the series was to provide opportunities to people in regional areas to compete in skateboarding, BMX and scooter competitions.
“The idea is to give regional kids the opportunity and older generation didn’t get,” he said
By taking Bluntside to regional areas, he hopes to get more kids involved in the sport.
The competition was open to both men and women with a 16 years and under mixed category and a 12 years and under mixed category.
Winners progress to the final on in Orange in January 2019.
Prior to Sunday’s competition, two free skills clinics were held at the Bathurst Skate Park, which Mr Konza said were “packed out.”
