The Seismology Research Centre has reported a Magnitude 2.5 earthquake near Blayney about 9pm.
The Western Advocate has already received reports from residents living as far away as Billywillinga and Robin Hill who said they felt the tremor.
Facebook posts suggest it was even felt in Orange.
One resident in the Newbridge district said they had felt nothing like the tremor before.
“Loud explosion just now and shook the house. Sound seemed to be coming from the east of us but hard to tell,” he said.
Tonight’s minor quake comes about four months after a 2.6 tremor was reported near O’Connell.
