Hope-May Annis-Brown, 27, of View Street in Kelso, appeared before magistrate Viney in Bathurst Local Court charged with driving a vehicle during a period of disqualification and driving with an illicit drug in her blood.
Police facts tendered to the court told how police were patrolling the Sydney Road at Kelso at 8.30pm on April 9 this year when they pulled Annis-Brown over for a breath test.
Police exited the vehicle and approached Annis-Brown, who is known to police, and she was given a random breath test, which returned a negative result.
Police were aware the accused did not have a licence from previous incidents, according to the police facts.
She was given an oral fluid test, which produced a positive detection to cannabis and methamphetamine.
Annis-Brown was arrested and taken to Bathurst Police Station for a secondary test.
She was asked a number of questions while at the station and provided a sample of oral fluid which returned a positive result for THC (cannabis) and methamphetamine, according to the police facts.
The remainder of the sample was placed into a sealed vial and sent away for analysis.
In relation to the use of drugs, police said the accused told them: "I don't want to use that stuff.”
The court was told the accused was co-operative with police.
The oral fluid sent away for analysis by police returned a positive result.
On the charge of driving a vehicle during a disqualification period, Annis-Brown was placed on a section 9 bond for 12 months, disqualified for 12 months and ordered to accept community corrections supervision.
On the second matter, driving a vehicle with an illicit drug in her blood, Annis-Brown was fined $500 and disqualified from driving for three months from September 3.
