The festival is put together by final year Theatre/Media students and, as you would imagine, includes some pretty edgy stuff – but one show in particular has caught Parade’s eye.
Schapelle, Schapelle (with apologies, one imagines, to Rochelle, Rochelle of Seinfeld fame) is a “musical comedy” exploring the (allegedly) until story of convicted Bali drug smuggler Schapelle Corby.
It’s a fascinating storyline, and the sales pitch is just as intriguing.
“Schapelle is Australia’s favourite living criminal, but do you really know the girl behind the boogie board banter?” the blurb reads.
“Join the raucous gang at Bosom Buddies Productions as they get the real scoop (sort of) on our Schapelle, in this original musical comedy. It’s the strange exotic journey from Brizzie to Bali as you’ve never before seen it.
“Get ready to laugh at original musical numbers and a creatively re-imagined story that is sure to have the whole crowd involved. Make sure to grab your tickets, Surfs up.”
And that’s just one show – there are many more where that came from.

Luca ready for royal treatment
ONE Central West resident is already used to getting up close and personal with the royal family.
Koala Luca made his media debut in 2014 when he was introduced to Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton.
At the time he was living at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo, however he has since been moved to Dubbo’s Taronga Western Plains Zoo.
The young koala may also get to meet Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when they visit Dubbo in October.
Meeting the royals helps promote the plight of the koala suffering due to habitat destruction, bushfires and disease.
The royals will be in Dubbo on October 17 but their plans for the day remain a secret at this stage.
However, it’s a fair bet a trip to the zoo will appear somewhere on the itinerary.
