A Brazilian-born French man has been charged with dozens of fraud offences after allegedly skimming people's bank cards at ATMs across Brisbane.

The 31-year-old student was arrested in July after a raid on a Spring Hill property where police seized $22,100 in cash, laptops, five ATM deep insert skimming devices, two false ATM ceiling panels with cameras and electronics.
He will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with 61 offences including obtaining identification information, dealing with identification information and stealing.
Acting Detective Superintendent Peter Brewer said it was the first time police had come across the successful use of a deep insert skimming device in Queensland.
The device is placed inside an ATM and captures data from the magnetic strip on the card when it is inserted, while a tiny camera records the pin number.
It takes less than a minute for the camera and device to be attached to the ATM.
Police were first made aware of the man's alleged offending in April, with 11 banks affected.
