A MAN accused of supplying a large commercial quantity of the drug meth has been found guilty following a four-week trial in Bathurst District Court.

David John Peters, 25, formerly of Red Gum Place in Bathurst, appeared before Judge Norton in Bathurst District Court for the trial, a four-week special fixture, which began in August.
Following his arrest in 2015, Peters was charged with 11 matters including supplying a prohibited drug larger than or equal to a commercial quantity, supplying a prohibited drug larger than or equal to a large commercial quantity, three counts of supplying a prohibited drug, two counts of possessing an unauthorised pistol, three counts of possessing an unauthorised firearm and the possession of a shortened firearm.
At the time of his arrest, police alleged Peters supplied 1166 grams of methamphetamine (large commercial quantity) and further alleged he supplied 792 grams (commercial quantity) of methamphetamine.
Peters had pleaded guilty to all but two counts on the indictment, supplying a prohibited drug greater than a commercial quantity and supplying a prohibited drug greater than a large commercial quantity, but a jury returned a guilty verdict to both matters on Friday.
The matter has since been listed for sentence on November 30, 2018 before the District Court – Crime at the Sydney Downing Centre. Bail is refused.
Judge Norton also ordered a pre-sentence report from Community Corrections.
Judge Norton also requested a full background and sentencing options for November 30.
Two co-accused in the matter, Kylie Jane Gray, 54, and Renee Chantell Borg, 35, were each found guilty of supplying a prohibited drug greater than or equal to a commercial quantity, and will also be sentenced on November 30 before the District Court – Crime, at the Sydney Downing Centre.
Judge Norton also ordered a full pre-sentence report for both offenders.
