Gisbon ran a time of 27 minutes and 34 seconds, 29 seconds better than what he ran in 2018 but he finished in the same place as he did the year before.
“It went well and I took it pretty steady at the start,” he said.
“I got to the top of Esrom Street feeling pretty good, so I was able to push hard. I stuck to my plan and ran quicker than what I thought I would’ve.
“I’m very happy. I had a big group of people I coach every week for the jog and I’ve seen so many people do well.”
Gisbon said the most challenging part of the course is the opening two kilometres.
“You need to get them right so when you hit Esrom Street you’re doing okay,” he said.
Nicholas Zawadski was the next best local across the line, the Bathurst runner finishing in a time of 28 minutes and five seconds.
