Police have launched a critical incident investigation after the death of a man at Dubbo on Sunday afternoon.

About 2.20pm police pulled over a car travelling on the Newell Highway after receiving information the driver was wanted by police for a domestic violence related incident.
As police approached the car they noticed the driver was unconscious and performed first aid until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived.
The man was unable to be revived and died at the scene.
A critical incident investigation team from Central North Police District will now investigate the circumstances of the incident.
The investigation will be subject to an independent review and will be monitored by the Law Enforcement Commission.
Police said all information would be provided to the Coroner who will determine the cause of death and make any findings about the events leading up to the man’s death.
According to Live Traffic NSW emergency services attended the scene at about 2.34 and both lanes of the Newell Highway were closed.
About 3.42pm stop slow traffic management was put in place to allow motorists to travel on both lanes of the highway.
