The big shopping day in Bathurst is a promotion organised by the Western Advocate, which has been part of the community for more than 15 years.
Participating businesses embrace the promotion each year, offering ‘crazy’ discounts to customers.
Crazy Day is now part of BizMonth and Western Advocate sales manager Nils Gufaston said it will give residents a final chance to enter the draw for an amazing prize.
“Crazy day is the last opportunity to get in the draw for the new Kia Picanto,” he said. “Participating retailers will have specials and some will set up street stalls with fantastic bargains, continuing the tradition and promoting support of our local businesses.”
A full list of the participating businesses can be found in the Western Advocate.
Bake, Table and Tea, located on George Street, is one of the businesses getting behind the promotion this year.
Owner Mel Kelly said her store will have 20 per cent off stock store-wide, but there will be items outside of the store that will be discounted by 60 per cent.
She said Crazy Day has been part of Bathurst for a long time and helps to support local business.
“It is absolutely pivotal to our businesses,” Ms Kelly said.
“I’ve been in Bathurst for over 20 years and Crazy Day has been a tradition that people save up their money for and retailers really get behind.”
