The tournament will be held on the Gold Coast, from September 30 to October 6, with students to head-off to Queensland on Saturday.
Three of the nine are to be captains for their NSW teams – Harriet Fitzsimmons for under 15s girls, Lilly Grimmond for under 16s girls and Tyler Pears for under 16s boys.
As well, Macson Alexander will be vice-captain for the under 19s boys side.
Kelso High Campus volleyball coach Jerry Sheader said the players are being rewarded for their hard work.
“They’ve endured some rigorous training,” he said.
“It started two terms ago. They travel to Sydney every Saturday, so that’s five hours of travel for only two hours of training.
“It can be tough on these players, physically and financially, but it’s a great reward for them.”
Sheader said nine representatives is the most Denison College has ever had, eclipsing the total of six from last year.
Former Denison College volleyball representative Deau Berry will also be competing in the tournament, but he was be representing the Australian Institute of Sport.
“If we can get a medal in any of the teams, I’ll be really happy,” Sheader said.
“I’m just really proud of them and a big thank you to all the parents who have helped them out too.”
